Up until now, if you wanted an accurate slotted nut to upgrade your guitar you were limited to plastics and polymers. The holy grail of nuts, bone, was only available if you wanted to invest the time and money in shaping and finishing a blank.

At Tone Ninja, we make great, accurate polymer replacement slotted nuts. We thought, hey! maybe we could make these out of bone, to make real bone nuts accessible to everyone... so we did. Our most popular nuts are now available in bleached, unbleached and impregnated/lubricated bone versions with the same, great Tone Ninja value.

There are only two points where your strings contact the body of your guitar, the nut and the saddle. This makes the nut crucial in the "Tone Chain" that affects how your guitar sounds. However, there's more to it than that - the action and playability of the guitar is greatly affected by the height of the strings at the nut, and making sure that this is correct is crucial to your guitar's playability. In addition, tuning stability can be affected if the strings bind in the nut slots.

Fit: Tone Ninja bone nuts are precision slotted and are pre-sized for most common instruments. Because guitars are made out of wood, they can vary slightly, so all Tone Ninja bone nuts are made slightly oversize so you can adjust to fit on installation.

About Bone: Our bone is only obtained from fully sustainable sources. As with any natural material, coloration may vary from nut to nut. If you need to make adjustments, bone is slightly more difficult to work with than our polymer nuts.

Bone Types: We offer these nuts in three different variants -

• Unbleached: Natural bone that has not been treated in any way
• Bleached: Natural Bone that has been bleached to make it a whiter color
• Impregnated/Lubricated: Natural Bone that is impregnated with paraffin wax to give it an inherent slipperiness and lubrication for trem users and heavy benders
